The GRP dashboard surround and old school aluminium dash board panel was 3D Scanned for an accurate outer profile / shape. New Garmin screens and ancillaries were carefully laid out in the cad model assembly in SolidWorks. The back of the panel was then beefed up in the areas we need more support/ strength.
The CAD file was then sent to the CNC carbon cutting table cut the carbon material. the part was then laid up on a flat glass sheet - over sized. The outer profile was them machined to precisely fit the GRP surround.
